Larry Clark , 77, of Merrill, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Unity Point Health – St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars.  Reverend Bruce Lawler will celebrate Mass.  Social distancing and wearing a mask are required. Burial with military honors provided by the Oleson-Halweg American Legion Post 125 of Merrill will be at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill.  Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2020 at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars.  There will be a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Larry Keith Clark was born May 23, 1943 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Lyman and Ayleen (Hamilton) Clark.  He was raised on the family farm near Merrill. He attended grade school in Merrill and graduated from Hinton High School. He attended Morningside College in Sioux City and Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD.

He was drafted into the United States Army in 1966.  Larry served his country during the Vietnam War in the 169th Engineering Battalion and was honorably discharged in 1968.

He was united in marriage to Diana Hoffman on June 14, 1969 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville, Iowa.  They made their home on the family farm between Merrill and Hinton.  Larry owned and operated Larry Clark Construction for over 40 years. Over the years, he made customers into friends and enjoyed driving the countryside, taking pride in the work he did.

He was a member of the Oleson-Halweg American Legion Post 125 of Merrill.  Larry loved the outdoors, whether it was fishing, boating, or riding his snowmobile, motorcycle, or ATVs.  His family was his greatest joy. He loved family get-togethers, taking his kids camping, and spending time with his grandchildren, whom he referred to as the "Dirty Dozen"!  Homemade ice cream was Larry's favorite and a tradition with his family.  Larry and Diana enjoyed touring the continent in their RV.

He enjoyed listening to music, and would consider the Caterpillar broke down if the radio wasn't working.

Survivors include his wife of over 51 years, Diana of Merrill, IA; a daughter, Carmen Clark (Scott Galyen ) of Des Moines, IA; a son, David (Mary Jo) Clark of Merrill, IA, and their children, Gabriel, Paige, and Mikaela; a daughter, Sara (Barry) Quail of Westminster, CO, and their children, Lincoln and Kellen; a daughter, Shana (Jarret) Herke of Emmetsburg, IA, and their children, Aylee and Emersyn; a son, Steven (Melanie) Clark of Granger, IA, and their children, Olivia, Sophie, and Eli; a son, Jason ( Shera ) Clark of Ankeny, IA, and their children, Jaelyn and Brinley; his in-laws, Dennis (Jean) Hoffman, Sharon Andersen, Marcia (Paul) Haywood, Jean (Mel) Fish, Myrna Hoffman, Joyce Hoffman, Kevin Hoffman, Craig Hoffman, and Lynn (Shelly) Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyman and Ayleen Clark; his father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Ethel Hoffman; his sister, Joan Johnson; and a brother- in- law, Alan Hoffman.
