Larry Timmins, 64, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska surrounded by his family.

Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Rejoice! Community Church in Le Mars.  Pastor Fred Gums will officiate.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.  Visitation with the family will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Le Mars immediately following the service.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com

In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations can be made in Larry's name to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Larry Alan Timmins, the son of Jerry and Thelma (Nielsen) Timmins, was born on November 11, 1959, in Le Mars, Iowa.  He grew up in the Kingsley and Moville area where he attended school.  Following his schooling, he worked in construction and drove truck.

He was united in marriage to Denise Kellen on November 10, 1990 and made their home in Le Mars. Larry continued in construction and started his own business, Timmins Construction, in 1993. You can see his works and signs throughout Le Mars as he was involved in so many projects over the years.  He touched the lives of so many through his business and made so many friends.  He not only built many homes (including 1 for each of his 3 daughters) but he also was involved in many projects over the years, including the Wells' Ice Cream Parlor, Le Mars Bible Church addition and Rejoice! Church remodel.

He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, especially for his annual motorcycle trip.  Another treasure of Larry's was endless drives, no matter the distance or the reason.  His family was his greatest joy, he always cherished seeing the joy on their faces during family vacation.  With his grandkids always at his heart, he would never miss an activity (sports, school, or family) even if it was paint drying on walls.

Survivors include his wife, Denise of Le Mars; a daughter: Tanya (Derick) DeBoer of Le Mars, and their children, Aiden and Easton; a son: Jeff (Sam) Timmins of Le Mars, and their children, Bruce, Rhodey, and Kennedy; a daughter: Jessie (Josh) Bohnenkamp of Le Mars, and their children, Aubreah, Peyson, and Kyson; a daughter: Amber (Riley) Schilmoeller of Le Mars, and their children, Bourbon and Harrison; his mother, Thelma Timmins of Sioux City, IA; his siblings: Mike (Val) Timmins of Angleton, TX, Pat (Mike) Hoffstatter of Moville, IA, Julie (Denny) Lias of Arnolds Park, IA, and Kelly (Sheri) Timmins of Plumas Lake, CA; his mother in law, Mary Jane Kellen of Le Mars; his in laws: Deborah Kellen of Le Mars, Del (Lori) Kellen of Le Mars, Dena (John) Cochran of Le Mars, Dean (Tammy) Kellen of Alcester, SD, Deanna (Darrell) Douvia of Le Mars, and Dee Jay (Bobbi) Kellen of Le Mars; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Timmins; his father in law, Donald Kellen; his uncle, Max McConnell; his nephews: Jashua Clark, Patrick Kellen, and Tyler Douvia; a great nephew, Joey Gigliotti; and his great nieces: Madison Fuller and Samantha Clark.
