Lauris M. Dudgeon, 90 of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at her home in Akron.

Funeral Service will be 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Lauris Marie Collins was born on January 1, 1932 to Ralph and Caroline (Wagner) Collins in Des Moines, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Robert Nichols and they later divorced. Lauris was united in marriage to Dudley Dudgeon on July 27, 1955 in Canton, SD. They made their home in a farm near Westfield, Iowa and later moved into Akron, Iowa. Lauris worked in the office at both Siefers and Higman Sand and Gravel in Akron.

Lauris loved going dancing on weekend nights at dance halls around the area; every summer they would have a camping weekend where they would have a hog roast and build a dance floor just for the weekend. She also loved traveling; across the United States, Mexico, England, and the Galapagos Islands. Lauris was a joy and beloved to all who knew her; she loved being a grandmother and was a 'grandma' to family as well as many friends and acquaintances. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good banter.

Lauris is survived by her daughter, Coletta Manna; step son, Everett Dudgeon; grandchildren: Joshua (Jaimie) Heeren, Bret (special friend, Jamie Pearson) Banks. Devon (Andy) Allaway, and Luke Heeren; step grandchildren: Lisa (Dustin) Dahl, Lindsay DeMatteo, Kelly Tadlock, and Meghan Bowar; great grandchildren: Trinity Heeren, Ellie Heeren, Cameron Banks, Lilly Allaway, Eli Banks, and Mia Allaway; nieces: Jaci Collins, Cathy (Mike) Klinger, and Sue Christoffersen; and other extended relatives.

Lauris is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dudley; daughter, Marlene Nichols; step son, Bill Dudgeon; siblings: Herbert (Lois) Collins and Vivian (Gene) Block.
