Leland "Lee" Kramer , 68, of Seney, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Reverend Christian Meier will officiate. Burial will follow at Elgin Township Cemetery in Seney, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present at 5:00 p.m. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .
Leland Dean Kramer, the son of Henry Sr and Luverna (Kots) Kramer, was born March 20, 1954 in Orange City, Iowa. He was the second youngest of seven kids. He attended school in Orange City and graduated from MOC-FV.
He was united in marriage to Diane Erickson on June 23, 1973, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. To this union, three children were born: Kim, Chad, and Patricia. They made their home in Seney, Iowa. Lee was employed by the Seney Grain Elevator and later Plymouth Feeds in Merrill. In 1993, he went to work with his wife at Bogenrief Studios in Merrill. In 2005, Lee and his wife started Lee's Handyman Service. They truly enjoyed that and loved to help all of their elderly customers. They operated the business until 2019, when his health deteriorated.
Lee was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. He was active and loved tending to his flower gardens. He also enjoyed going fishing and being outdoors. After he became disabled, he could be found doing craftwork and woodworking. He greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Diane of Seney; his children and grandchildren: Kim (Jeff) Gordon of Le Mars and their children, Anna and Wyatt; Chad (Kelli) Kramer of Seney and their children, Hailey, Brandon, Aiden, Tyler (Alexis) and their son, John, Ryan (Hannah), and Preston (Rachel); and Patricia Rachuy of Seney and her children, Jonathan, Ethan, and Faith; his siblings: Glenda (Gary) Habben, Margaret Koerner, Arlene Luft, Henry (Sharon) Kramer, Sharon Poeckes, and Twilla Kramer; his in laws: Bruce (Brenda) Erickson and Brian (Debbie) Erickson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Walter and Bettie Erickson; and his in laws: Melvin Koerner, Larry Luft, and Paul Poeckes; and two nephews: Brad Van Voorst and Brandon Erickson.
