Marc Chapman , 80, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Christ Lutheran Church, L.C.M.S. in Remsen, Iowa. Reverend Garret Kasper will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .
Memorials can be made in Marc's name to Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen, Iowa.
Marc Kent Chapman, the son of Marion and Sylvia (Siege) Chapman, was born on July 7, 1942 in Le Mars, Iowa. He attended school at Le Mars Central. Following his schooling, he began farming in Plymouth and Sioux County. He also drove truck for 23 years, first for Wagner Trucking, then Weinrich Trucking, and later for Te Slaa Trucking.
He was united in marriage to Colleen Ahlrich on October 4, 1959. To this union, four children were born, Marc, Kevin, Melinda, and Kimberly. He later married Mildred "Milly" Van Hill-Lukken on July 19, 2008.
He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. For the past 4 years, he has been a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. He enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler and taking trips to ride in the Black Hills and Arizona. His family was his greatest joy, he loved spending time with children and grandchildren. He took many trips to visit them in Florida and Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Milly of Le Mars, IA; his 4 children: Marc (Wendy) Chapman of Austin, TX, Kevin (Wendy) Chapman of Dallas, TX, Melinda (John) Hernandez of Satellite Beach, FL, and Kimberly (Ron) Cloutier of Dallas, TX; 11 grandchildren: Michael (Anna) Chapman, Nathan (Jillian Andresen) Chapman, Alex (Kayla) Chapman, Taylor Chapman, Travis Chapman, Kaylee Chapman, Alec Hernandez, Sydney Hernandez, Kamryn Hernandez, Kyle (Haley) Cloutier, and Nicole Cloutier; 5 great grandchildren: Beau Chapman, Landry Chapman, Ava Chapman, Presley Chapman, and Annie Cloutier; 2 step children: Michelle (Larry) Fee of Omaha, NE, and Dan (Kelly) Lukken of Sioux Falls, SD; 5 step grandchildren: Kelsey Schiefen, Dylan Schiefen, Haley Lukken, Megan Lukken, and Brianna Fee; and his sister, Merry Kool of Sioux Falls, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Sylvia Chapman.
