Obituary

Margaret "Peg" Hageman , 79, of Hinton, Iowa, was called to her heavenly home on October 28, 2022, at Bickford Memory Care in Sioux City following a courageous battle with dementia.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Iowa.  Reverend Dr. Klaus Raab will officiate.  Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hinton.  Visitation with the family present will be begin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church.  There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will resume from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Peg's name Mission Central of Mapleton, St. Croix Hospice, Trinity Lutheran Church, or to a charity of your choice in care of the family.

Margaret "Peg" Singer, the daughter of Raymond and Eileen (LaBahn) Singer, was born June 14, 1943 in Le Mars, Iowa.  She lived in Merrill where she attended school.  She was baptized in the Catholic church and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton.

She was united in marriage to Darrell Hageman on June 24, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church.  They lived on their farm east of Hinton for 58 years where Peg worked alongside Darrell on the farm.   She also worked for many years at Hinton Community School in the cafeteria.  She enjoyed the many students that she served lunch too.  In September of 2018, she became a resident of Bickford Memory Care in Sioux City.

She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, listening to country music, and having fun.  She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She will be deeply loved and remembered by her husband of 62 years, Darrell; a daughter, Brenda (Doug) Baldwin and their children: Sara (Tim) Stockman and their son, Ryan, and Jill Baldwin (special friend, Michael Akins); a son, Bret (Brenda) Hageman and their children: Adam (Gina) Hageman and their children, Chase, Nora, and Madelyn, Abby (Kelsey) Scarpetta, and Matt (Elissa) Meylor and their children, Layla, Henry, Benny, and Emmett; her sisters: Mary (Henry) Rieken, Sandra Ludwigs, Linda Duncan, and Bill Singer; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Eileen Singer; and her brothers, Kevin Singer and Guy Singer in infancy.

Peg's family wishes to extend their heartfelt love and gratitude to the staff at Bickford Memory Care for their wonderful care and compassion shown to our wife, mother, and grandmother.
