Margaret Ann Faust, 94, of Akron, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Hawarden Regional Healthcare in Hawarden, Iowa.

Private family graveside services will be at Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Margaret Ann Faust was born November 22, 1929 in Little Sioux, Iowa, the daughter of William Clyde and Mabel Anna (Keirscht) Harpole. She grew up in the Branson, Missouri area and later moved to Percival, Iowa. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Percival High School in 1947.

She was united in marriage to Leo F. Faust on October 14, 1949 in Sioux City, Iowa. They lived in Westfield, Iowa until 1965, when they moved to Akron. Margaret worked for Coilcraft in Hawarden, Iowa, Zenith in Sioux City, and later at Custom Coils in Alcester, South Dakota until retiring on March 5, 2009. Leo passed away on August 3, 1989.

Margaret was a member of the Rural Carriers Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to work, reading, and playing bingo. But most of all, she loved the time spent with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her two sons: James Faust of Le Mars, Iowa, and Kelly Faust and his wife Donna of Ballwin, MO; 6 grandchildren: Lance Terpstra, Shawn Faust, Scott Brandhagen, Nickolas, Andrew, and Daniel Faust; several great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; daughters: Sharon Faust and Helen (Pete) Hess; 4 brothers: Vern, Dean, Darel (Louise), and Jerry Harpole; 2 sisters: Janice (Jack) Magee and Virginia (James) Sutton; a nephew: Jeffrey.
