Margarita Mendoza , 67, of Akron, Iowa, formerly of McAllen, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020 in Akron.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Survivors include her son, George (Saresa) Mendoza of Akron; 5 grandchildren: Nettie (Chris) Voter and their son, Lane, Alexander Mendoza, Phillip Mendoza, Samuel Mendoza, and Thomas Mendoza; her siblings: Juan Mendoza, Berta Enriquez, Miguel Mendoza, Jorge Mendoza, Jovita Mendoza, Magdalena Venecia, Teresa Mendoza, Ruben Mendoza, and Pedro Mendoza; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Amancia (Garcia) Mendoza; a brother, Luis Arturo Mendoza; and a sister, Lidia Sandoval.
