Obituary

Marjorie Arnold Jividen , 97, of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Merrill, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Whispering Creek Retirement Community in Sioux City.

Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Pastor Lisa Millen from the Merrill United Methodist Church in Merrill, Iowa will officiate.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Merrill.  Visitation with the family present will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Marjorie Lake was born on October 23, 1924 in Lake Benton, MN to Eldon and Ellen (Easton) Lake. She grew up in Merrill, Iowa and graduated from Merrill High School in 1942. She then moved to Washington State where she worked at McChord Air Base & Labor and Industries in Olympia, WA. She was united in marriage to Marion Arnold on November 22, 1946 and they were blessed with two children: Mark and Marlynn. Marion passed away on September 25, 1978. Marjorie moved back to Iowa and worked at North American Manufacturing Company for 20 years and American Family Insurance Company for 10 years. Marjorie was united in marriage to Leo Jividen on April 8, 1978. She retired in 1990. Marjorie and Leo enjoyed traveling and visiting their family and friends.

Marjorie was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wesleyan Service Guild, Golden Years Club, Mature Citizens Club, Crimson Dolls, and the Class of 1941 Club.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Mark (Jane) Arnold of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Marlynn (Jack) Kirk of Omaha, NE; daughter in law, Marsha Jividen; step daughter, Janet Beedle; sister in law, Alice Conway; seven grandchildren: Stacy (Troy) Dempster, Jessica Arnold, Michael Stevens, Adam Stevens, Jennifer (Rory) Jackson, Jessica (Nick) Fischer, and Ben (Abbey) Jividen; thirteen great grandchildren; brothers: Don (Dolores) Lake and Stan (Lorraine) Lake and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Marion Arnold; second husband, Leo Jividen; step son, Michael Jividen; step daughter, Judy Coppi and sister in law, Joyce Lake.
