Mary Ann Phelan, 54 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at her home in Le Mars.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2020 at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Oyens, Iowa with Father William McCarthy officiating. The public is invited to attend the graveside service while practicing social distancing as mandated by state and federal guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. A public funeral procession will be leaving the Rexwinkel Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Mary Ann Katherine Phelan was born on December 16, 1965 to Leland and Marilyn (Dreckman) Phelan in Le Mars, Iowa. She grew up on their farm in rural Le Mars and attended school in Le Mars. Mary Ann graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1985. After graduation she moved into Le Mars and began working full time. She worked at various jobs including: Life Skills, and Arby's. She later worked for over 15 years at the Amber Inn Motel in Le Mars.

Mary Ann loved to craft; she worked with many mediums but specifically loved needlework and beadwork. Mary Ann also looked forward to their annual family ATV trip with her brothers and sister in law. They would often go to Deadwood, South Dakota for the yearly vacation.

Mary Ann is survived by her brother, George Phelan of Le Mars; brother, Joe (Shannon) Phelan of Kingsley, Iowa; nieces and nephews: Samantha (Blake) Headley of Omaha, Nebraska, CJ Phelan of Sioux City, Iowa, and Lee Phelan of Kingsley, Iowa; aunt Loretta Schnepf of Le Mars, Iowa; many cousins and other extended relatives.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Marilyn Phelan.
