Mary 'Mike' Peters, 78 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving daughters on Friday, October 29, 2021.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 7, 2021 at All Saints Parish-St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. Visitation with the family will begin at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Mary 'Mike' Michael Staver was born on February 15, 1943 to Lawrence and Rolline (Bollin) Staver in Le Mars, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1962. She then went on to attend WIT College in Sioux City for retail sales and accounting.

Mike worked a variety of waitressing jobs starting with DX Café in Le Mars in 1958 which later became the Le Mars Truck Stop. She was the Truck Stop's first waitress and she worked there for 25 years! Mike also worked at the Country Kitchen, Head Start, Avon, Younkers, Timmy's Café, and Greenberg's. Mike was united in marriage to Noel 'Pete' Peters in 1962 at St. James Catholic Church and they later divorced in 1981.

Mike enjoyed reading, gardening, embroidery, scrapbooking, and renovating her home.  She volunteered as a Den Mother for Boy Scouts as well as helping with Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and 4H. Mike was a long time 'honorary employee' of Walmart in Le Mars where she stopped daily to check in on her friends at the store. Her favorite time was spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; they were her whole world! She loved them deeply, they brought her so much joy, and she was so proud of them.

Mike is survived by her children: Daynine (Dale) Anderson of Seney, Iowa, Denise (Ed) Rolfes of Le Mars, Iowa, Harold (Karen) Peters of Le Mars, Iowa, and David (Michelle) Peters of Arnolds Park, Iowa; grandchildren: Trisha (Lee Sanow) Anderson, Melinda (Jzar Templin) Anderson, Jacque (Craig) Homan, Ryan Rolfes, Kymberly (Raul) Espinoza, Jacob Peters, and Kahla Peters; great grandchildren: Jude and Jonah Sanow, Quinn, Emily, Paige, and Rebecca Homan, and Sunshine Templin; and other extended relatives.

Mike is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ron Staver; and her ex-husband, Noel 'Pete' Peters.
