Merle Lee Britton passed away on Tuesday, the 19 ^th of July, but his spirit will continue living through his family and friends.

Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Willow Creek Shelter House, 813 Park Lane Northeast in Le Mars, Iowa.  There will be a time of Memory Sharing at 5:00 p.m.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Born May 8, 1957 to Earl and Mary (Sullivan) Britton, Merle attended Gehlen High School as a proud member of the Class of 1975 and married Donna Guntren in 1978.

Merle was a caring, loyal, and simple man, who asked very little from the world, but was easy to offer his many talents to those around him.  He never wanted to be recognized for those good deeds.  His love and dedication was seen and felt in the meticulous detail of each project, whether it was simply weeding a garden, carpeting a room or giving life to a vehicle that most would pass by.  Merle will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and great uncle.  One of his greatest pleasures was attending his grandchildren's activities.

His love of travel created quite a road map of experiences which directed him to the perfect profession of travel consultant for Far Away Tours.  His adventures always involved finding a basketball court to shoot hoops and typically centered around a concert.  He really enjoyed live music.  Just ask his friends.

Merle cultivated some of the deepest relationships thanks to his character, compassion, and non-judgmental attitude.  He will be missed by many.

Merle is lovingly remembered by his son Matt and wife Kelli; Grandchildren: Stella, Clara, Lydia, and Grant; Siblings: Linda DeLair, Mark (Michele) Britton, Kay (Chuck) Kellen, Sue Nash; Sister-in-Law, Margaret Britton; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Merle is reunited with his wife Donna; Parents; older brother, John Britton; and nephew, Bradley Britton.
