Patricia Ann Parks, 89, of Sergeant Bluff Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Akron Care Center, Akron, Iowa.
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life is planned for Patty and Patrick at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Sioux City, Iowa.
Patty was born on April 1, 1936, to Rex and Addie Barber. Patty was one of six children, she grew up on a farm near Bronson, IA. She attended and graduated from Bronson High School and attended Wayne State College.
In 1958, Patty was united in marriage to the love of her life Patrick Parks. They made their home in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa where they raised their four children.
Patty worked at Younkers Department Store at the mall in Sioux City during the early 90s after which she opened Nan's Day Care taking care of many local children for years.
Pat and Patty were long time members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa.
Nan is survived by three children and their families: Daughter, Pamela (Daniel) McBride of South Fork, Colorado, and their children: Travis, Brooke, and Josh. Daughter, Peggy Wessling (David) of Whiting, Iowa and their children: Nicole, Elizabeth, David, and Abby. Son, Phillip (Pamela) Parks of Akron, Iowa and their children: Nicholas, Sean, and Olivia. And Son, Paul's daughter, Amanda of Sioux City, Ia. Patty has 24 great grandchildren that she knew and loved. She is also survived by her sisters Betty Green of Sergeant Bluff, Ia, Karen Pearson of Lawton Ia. and many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Addie Barber, husband Patrick, son Paul, son-in-law David (Peggy) Wessling, infant granddaughter Madeline Parks, siblings: Rex Barber, Gordon Barber, and Dennis Barber.
