Patricia 'Pat' Masuen, 80, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars.
Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Rejoice! Community Church in Le Mars. Pastor Mike Metten will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be from noon until service time and following the service during a reception, all at Rejoice! Community Church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials can be made to the family.
Patricia Ann Ruether, the daughter of Theodore and Minnie (Grosenheider) Ruether, was born on August 10, 1943, in Le Mars, Iowa. She attended school at Gehlen Catholic in Le Mars.
She was united in marriage to Dennis Masuen on June 27, 1959, in Larchwood, Iowa. They made their home in Le Mars.
Pat worked for various businesses in Le Mars, including Harker's Distribution, Dr. Rod Schuller, OD, Vander Meer Bakery, Fashionette, and Walmart. Her last job was at Kluckhohn Elementary School in Le Mars, where worked in the cafeteria. She did this until her retirement.
Pat attended Rejoice! Community Church. She loved all the holidays, decorating and making big meals for her family and others. Pat loved her dogs, and she was very passionate about making sure that they were taken care of. She was active in A.S.P.C.A. for many years. She also enjoyed riding horses and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. No one was a stranger to Pat. She and Denny took many trips to Oregon and Minnesota to visit their children and grandchildren. She loved being 'DoeDoe' for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis of Le Mars; a daughter, LeAnn (Russ) Hobson of Le Mars, and their children: Brent (Amy) Hobson of Sioux City, and their children, Alex and Brody; and Kassie (Ben) Kleinhesslink of Le Mars, and their son, Harrison; a daughter, Stacy (Mark) DeLong of Baker City, OR, and their children: Ethan (Abby) DeLong of Baker City, OR, and their children, Raiden and Jade; and Dillon DeLong of Baker City, OR; a son: Ted (Cari) Masuen of Lakeville, MN, and their children: Alyssa (Nathan) Denney of Sacramento, CA, and their daughter, Hailey; Morgen (Veniamin) Shchegolev of Minnetonka, MN; and Camille Masuen of Lakeville, MN; her sister in law, Patricia Ruba of Sergeant Bluff, IA; and several other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Minnie Ruether; her brother, Marlin (Delores) Grosenheider; her father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Edith Masuen; and brothers-in-law, Roger Masuen and Jerry Ruba.
