Patsy Ann Marienau was born July 20, 1947 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Elverna (Swisher) Marienau.  She was raised in Merrill, Iowa and attended Le Mars Central High School and graduated in 1965.

Patsy then began working and was blessed with two children, Rodney and Robin.  On November 8, 1975, she was united in marriage to William V. "Bill" Gengler in Le Mars.  To this union two more children were born, Nicholas and Gregory, and this made their family whole.

Patsy will forever be known to her family as the rock that held us all together.  She loved her family and taught all her children the meaning of "Hard Work and Love".  Patsy was proud of her husband's and children's accomplishments.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, William "Bill" Gengler; her children and grandchildren: a son, Rodney and Martha Toben and their family, Trent, Britney, and Skylar Toben; a daughter, Robin and Donkor Kodua and their children, Jon and Ashely Porter and Dianna and Jean Ambroise; a son, Nick and Nicole Gengler and their children, Ashley Koley, Autumn Koley, and Mason and Micah Gengler; and a son, Greg and Melisa Gengler and their children, Blaise and Kenna Coffee; 7 great grandchildren; a sister: Sharon VanderHoef and Mike Lovely; her in laws: Mike and Marlene Gengler, and Wayne Rassel; and several nieces and nephews.

She was met at the gates of Heaven by her parents, Marvin and Elverna Marienau; her father and mother in law, John E. and Florence Gengler; her sister, Eunice Reiter; her in laws, Marvin VanderHoef, Jack and Shirley Gengler, Joseph Gengler, a brother in law in infancy, and Margaret Rassel.

The family of Patsy Gengler would like to thank the staff of the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars and St. Croix Hospice for caring for her during her time of need.
