Paulette Gorter, 72 of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 in Akron.

A Celebration of Life will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Security National Bank Community Room in Akron, Iowa. Family and friends are asked to bring a dish to share. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Paulette Faber was born on February 14, 1950 to Fred and Catherine (Murphy) Faber in Sioux City, Iowa. Paulette was raised in Sioux City and attended Sacred Heart school and Bishop Heelan Catholic High School. Paulette made her home in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and worked for many years at Motel 6 and The Mail House in Sioux City.  Paulette was united in marriage to her long-time partner Andrew Gorter on February 16, 2015 at their home. Andrew passed away on June 25, 2017.

Paulette enjoyed being a homebody; but she also loved shopping, especially from QVC, collecting frogs, and watching the tv show Hoarders.

Paulette is survived by her children: Chad Berndt and Dawn Lamb; several grandchildren; step sons: Rick (Christine) Gorter and Dale (Susan) Gorter; siblings: Anita Zeitler, Kathy Faber, Linda Macklem, Fred Faber, and Frances Faber; siblings in law: Bets Gorter and Ardell (Connie) Gorter; many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Paulette is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew; granddaughter, Caylee Berndt; and sisters: Mary Mae Marshall and Beverly Jean Burke.
