Ralph Feller, 87, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Oyens, Iowa. Father Tim Pick will celebrate Mass with Deacon Doug Heeren assisting. Burial with military honors provided by the Wasmer American Legion Post 241 of Le Mars will be at St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery in Oyens. Visitation with the family present will be from 4:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials can be to Orange City Area Home Health and Hospice.

Ralph Julius Feller was born on March 31, 1938, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Peter and Dorothy (Dominick) Feller. He attended Marion #1 country school for kindergarten and 1st grade. He then attended St. Catherine Catholic School in Oyens, Iowa, for 2nd grade thru 7th grade. He attended high school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1956.

He joined the Army National Guard in 1955 and received his honorable discharge in May of 1963.

In February of 1957, a friend and him traveled to Denver, Colorado, to find a job. While there, they contacted brother Larry and went to work for Tempte Manufacturing Company. During a layoff, he was back in Iowa and married Darlene M. Ahrendsen (high school sweetheart) on November 24, 1958, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Oyens, Iowa. In April of 1959, he was called back to work for Tempte, so they moved to Denver. In January of 1962, he was employed by the Aurora Fire Department in Aurora, Colorado. In July of 1964, they moved to Garden Grove, California, due to an offer of employment on a fire department. He was employed by Stanton Fire Department in Stanton, California until February of 1969. During his time on the fire department, he attended night classes at Santa Ana Junior College for fire science.

In February of 1969, they moved back to Le Mars to live on the farm due to the death of his father-in-law. For extra income, he sold seed corn and beans for Curry Seed Company, drove truck for H & H Trucking, Chesterman Corporation, custom field work and his stacking business. During this time, he was awarded the FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer Award. When not working, he helped with taking care of the children and getting them to meetings and games. The grain farming continued. Their building site was moved in 2001 due to the Highway 60 four lane project.

He and Darlene enjoyed taking vacations to visit their daughter and her family in Dallas, Texas, Portland, Oregon, and Timnath, Colorado. They did tours of Europe, Canada, and Mexico. They took Caribbean cruises to South America and the Bahamas. They did many family trips and school trips to many states.

Survivors include a son, Regan Feller of Le Mars, IA; daughters, Renda (Marty) Jost of Timnath, CO, and Renee (Darrin) Minar of Le Mars, IA; grandchildren: Mitchell, Ben, Rebecca, Alex, Abbey, Kenzie, and Ethan Feller, Trevor and Heather Jost, Michael Miller, Brittany Hansen, Krysta Fischer, Samantha Timmins, Dustin Miller, Rachael Morris, and Sydney Minar; his chosen grandchildren, Ashley Kayser and Nick Minar; 20 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jo George of Loveland, CO; four brothers, Karl (Marlis) Feller and Paul (Donna) Feller of Aurora, CO, Denny Feller of Rapid City, SD, and Rick (Bev) Feller of Mustang, OK; sisters in law: Joan Feller of Rapid City, SD, and Bonita (Phil) McLarnan of Humboldt, IA; brother in law, William Cohrs of Tulsa, OK; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Dorothy Feller; his wife, Darlene Feller on January 21, 2024; sister, Kathy Cohrs; brothers, Larry Feller, Jay Feller, Peter Feller, and Tom Feller; father and mother-in-law, Peter and Vesta Ahrendsen; stepfather in law, Ervin Criswell; and in laws, Sheryl Feller, Dorie Kolker, and Joan Feller.
