Ralph Lambert, 95 of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, Iowa.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Akron, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.
Ralph Clifford Lambert Sr. was born on December 26, 1927 to John Sr. and Lyma (Harkness) Lambert on a farm in South Dakota. Their family later moved to a farm in Brunsville, Iowa when Ralph was 14 years old. Ralph attended school in a one-room schoolhouse near their farm until the 8th grade; he then began farming full time alongside his father.
Ralph was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Ralph was introduced to Virginia Barwick by her brother, Watson Barwick, who was Ralph's comrade in the service. They began corresponding through the mail and were united in marriage on August 11, 1961. They made their home on the family farm west of Le Mars. Ralph was a lifelong farmer and lived on his farm for 80 years. He became a resident of Happy Siesta in Remsen in August of 2022.
Ralph and Virginia were longtime members of the Church of the Nazarene in Le Mars and they enjoyed visiting family in Wisconsin and South Carolina. Ralph enjoyed fishing and he loved taking care of his many outdoor farm cats.
He is survived by a son: Cliff (Candy) Lambert of Le Mars, Iowa and their daughter, Chelby; a daughter: Margaret (Clint) Sargent of Missouri Valley, IA, and their children: Nathan and Tony; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; siblings: infant William, infant Rosa, Amelia (Jack) Henrich, Robert (Viola) Lambert, and John (Betty) Lambert; a great grandchild; and infant daughter, Ginger Sue Lambert who was there to greet him into Heaven.
