Ramona "Moni" MaryAnn Renken was born on March 7, 1937, to Carl and Marie (Ahrendt) Renken.  Ramona was born on the family farm near Brunsville. She began her education attending a country school till 8 th grade. Moni then attended Central High School in Le Mars, graduating in 1955.

She entered the workforce after graduation, working for Kilker's Investments. Moni soon moved to California, looking for new job opportunities and adventure. She worked for Western Air Lines at the Los Angeles International Airport. While she was in California, Moni became engaged to her High School sweetheart, Robert Lang, who was in the US Army, stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. After returning to Le Mars in 1958, she worked for Western Contracting in Sioux City. On April 12, 1959, Bob and Moni were married at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township with a reception following at her parents' home. After the birth of their son, Todd Robert, Moni became a "stay at home" Mom. A daughter, Kelli Marie was born the following year.

Bob had many different job opportunities that led the family to live in California, Storm Lake, IA, Le Mars, Prescott Valley, Arizona, and finally moving back to Le Mars in 1976. During that time Moni worked for KLEM, a realtor in Arizona and Harker's, which was a job that led to many lifelong friendships. At Harker's, Moni began her career as an Accounting Clerk. She transferred to the Purchasing Department as an Assistant Buyer and then was promoted to Buyer of Poultry & Processing Meats. After Harker's was sold, she worked for Holly Farms, for a time as an independent buyer out of her home and ended her career retiring from Tyson Foods in Orange City.

Moni was always active in her church, wherever she lived, setting an example for her family, and the importance of a relationship with Christ. She cared deeply for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Always encouraging and supporting them in all areas of life. She also loved her nieces and nephews, sharing her home with them when needed. She will be remembered for her love of life, upbeat spirit, and joy of dancing to "Mony, Mony" at wedding dances. She loved holidays spent with family, the more the merrier. Thanksgiving and Christmas were a favorite and were not complete without the orange jello/cheese salad on Thanksgiving and strawberry pretzel salad on Christmas. Her love of dolls spilled over to her granddaughters, which always had to have a doll given to them as a gift. Her inherited German hospitality, handed down from her mother, meant you were always offered a cup of coffee, even when she was residing at Good Sam.  As Moni spent her final years at Good Samaritan, with Alzheimer's slowly stealing her away from her family, she continued to give comfort and spread kindness to those around her with a special look, squeeze of the hand or lift of her eyebrows.

Ramona is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert of Le Mars, IA; a son, Todd Robert (Kim) Lang of Le Mars, IA; a daughter, Kelli Marie (Kent) Monical, of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren and their families: Sean, Erica Schnettler, and Sonja Lang of Minnetonka, MN; Mitch & Chelsea Lang of Brookings, SD; Hannah, Kolby and Lincoln Kessenich of Des Moines, IA; Jade, Scott, Brooke, Riley, Lucas, & Olivia Colmyer of Mesa, AZ; Josh, Randi Zung, Nora & Reese Lubben of Rockville, MD; Jordan, Austin and Archie Davis of Scottsdale, AZ; sister in laws, Fran Renken, Sun City, AZ; Barb Renken, Bentenville, AK; Shirley (Estill) Lang, Le Mars, IA; Shirley (Norman) Lang, Prescott Valley, AZ; Gloria (Chris) Burkhard of TX; Debbie (Loren) Schroeder of CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
