Obituary

Randy Reardon, 62, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Private family interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials can be made in Randy's name to the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Randall Jay Reardon, the son of Jerry and Sharon (Herman) Reardon, was born on June 24, 1962, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. At a young age, he moved with his family to Le Mars. Randy attended school at Gehlen Catholic and graduated in 1980. He furthered his education at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon where he received his associates degree as an automotive mechanic. Following college, he worked as a mechanic at the Dubuque Packing House in Le Mars.

Randy married Cate Gass in Le Mars, Iowa. To this union, two children were born, Jarred and Jaecy. They later divorced.

After leaving the packing house, he worked alongside his father at Reardon Commodities in Le Mars for several years. Randy then purchased the Yamaha Golf Car franchise and opened Yamaha Golf and Equipment. He owned and operated the business for 17 years.

Randy had many organizations that were near to his heart, including Pheasant's Forever, Knight of Columbus, Sportsman's Club, and the Plymouth County Alzheimer's Association. He was a former board member of the Le Mars Area Dialysis Center. He was also active in the Inferno Motorcycle Club. Randy loved being outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, 'The Andy Griffith Show,' and 'Gunsmoke.  Most of all, he loved the time spent with his family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Jarred (Justina) Reardon of Gilbert, AZ, and children: Maiya and Jax; a daughter, Jaecy Reardon (Michael Bybee) of Le Mars, IA, and children: Harper and Everly; his father, Jerry Reardon of Le Mars, IA; his life partner, Rita Ruhland of Le Mars, IA, and children: Amber (Clay) Jensen and their children, Cael and Olivia; Lindsey (Danny) Linquist and their children, Bennett and Cameron; and Ashley (Dustin) Miller and their children, Noah, Ayden, Aubrey, and Elise; his sister: JoAnn (Kyle) Black of Cave Creek, AZ, and their children, Lindsey (Chris) Kovarna and Logan (Corinne) Black; and great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Reardon.
