Richard 'Rick' Lewison, 64 of Akron, Iowa, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 at his home in Akron.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2023 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron, Iowa. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home in Akron. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Richard Lee Lewison was born on June 12, 1959 to Richard and Lavina (Chambers) Lewison.  Rick attended and graduated from Akron High School.  Rick worked various jobs over the years including, but not limited to, farm help with detasseling corn and seasonal work for the City of Akron. He was currently employed with Van's Sanitation where he had been working for the last 25 years.

Rick was currently attending New Horizons Church in Akron. He loved listening to music and cheering for the Miami Dolphins. Rick's favorite time was spent with his family. When his mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's, he helped to take care of her at home. He was also known for doting on his nieces and nephews.

Rick is survived by three sisters: Cathy Dover, Claudia Rasmussen, and Cindy (Paul) Hutchins; aunts: May Lou Lewison and Betty Heyl; nine nieces and nephews: Sarah Held, Cleo Dover, Kerri Rasmussen, Ryan Rasmussen, Jaycee Graffigna, Christina Compton, Christopher Krause, Sarah Krause, and Rebecca Krause; and other extended relatives.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Carol Lewison and Cheryl Krause; brothers in law, Mark Rasmussen and Lester Dover; and nephew, Randy Rasmussen.
