Robert Anthony
Langdeaux
Oct 3, 1970 — Dec 17, 2023
Akron
Robert Anthony Langdeaux, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his home in Akron, lowa. He was 53 years old.
Private family services will be held to honor his memory, with arrangements entrusted to the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron, lowa. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.
Robert was born on October 3, 1970, in Primghar, lowa, to Melvin and Jackie (Piscator) Langdeaux. He attended grade school at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn and high school at Sibley-Ocheyedan. Following his education, Robert began his career as a heavy machinery operator, working alongside his father. He later joined Joe's Ready Mix, which eventually became GCC, where he dedicated 31 years of his life. Robert's hard work and dedication led him to the position of plant manager, a role he affectionately referred to as "button pusher/babysitter." He retired from GCC due to his declining health.
On February 27, 1997, Robert found his soulmate in Valerie Holmquist, and they embarked on a beautiful journey together. Robert was blessed with three children (Anthony, Paige, Michael) from a previous relationship, and with Valerie, he gained three bonus children(Jesse, Jackie and Shane). The couple also welcomed one more child (Leah) into their lives, creating a loving and blended family.
Robert had a passion for fishing and tinkering. Known for his ability to fix anything, he was always on the go, never one to sit idle. In 2014, Robert and Valerie achieved their dream of owning a farm, where he happily tended to the chores and cared for the animals. But above all, Robert cherished his family. He treasured the moments spent with his children and grandchildren, finding joy in making them laugh through playful pranks and lighthearted antics.
In the face of a short but courageous battle with cancer, Robert remained surrounded by the love of his family during his last days. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience.
Robert will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Val, and their children: Anthony (Lori) Langdeaux of Pierre, SD, Paige (Adam) Egland of Emmetsburg, IA, Michael (Suzie) Langdeaux of Sibley, IA, Leah Langdeaux of Akron, IA, Jackie Jennings of Alton, IA, Jesse (Nicole) Jennings of Round Lake, MN, and Shane Saxen of Le Mars, IA. He will also be missed by his 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson, his siblings: James Langdeaux of Fort Dodge, IA, and Amanda (Grant) Nelson of Alton, IA, as well as his nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Jackie Langdeaux, and his in-laws Earl and Beverly Holmquist. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
May he rest in peace.
