Ronald Bruce Frahm was born on July 19, 1959 to Arnold and Betty (Anderson) Frahm in Storm Lake, Iowa. Ron grew up on a farm in rural Galva, Iowa. Their family attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Galva and Ron was confirmed there. He attended and graduated from Galva High School in 1977. Ron worked various jobs before moving to Le Mars, Iowa. He began working at Wells Blue Bunny in Le Mars in 1985. While at Wells Blue Bunny, Ron worked in the freezer department at the south plant and often jokingly called his position a "freezer rat". Ron worked for Wells for 35 years before he retired in the spring of 2020.
Ronald was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Chicago Cubs, Oakland Raiders, and Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a very social person and some of his favorite Saturday's were spent at Red's bar with his friends watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. Ron was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed turkey hunting, where he was successful with both a bow and shotgun, and pheasant hunting. He made and hunted with many friends over the years in both Galva and Le Mars areas. He was a talented bow hunter for deer and had a recorded Pope and Young buck that scored 147 4/8 on November 10, 1987 in Woodbury County, Iowa. In his younger years, Ron enjoyed fishing for bass and walleye. He even joined a small bass fishing club in Le Mars. Later in life, he enjoyed fishing on trips to Minnesota for crappie with his brother, Randy.
Ron is survived by his brother, Randy (Barbara) Frahm of Columbia, MO; and nephews: Benjamin Frahm and Tyler Frahm, both of Columbia, MO.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Betty; and nephew, David Sonnichsen.
