Roy Marvin Brandt, the son of Harry Raymond and Mildred Leah (Black) Brandt, was born on January 9, 1943, in Winterset, Iowa.  He grew up in Winterset where he attended school.  Following high school, he attended Cosmetology in Des Moines.  He owned and operated a salon in Winterset for several years.

He married Diana 'Dee' Koehler.  To this union, 3 children were born: Jeff, Ian, and Aaron.  They later divorced.  He married Mina DeBoer. To this union, 2 children were born: Elison and Lauren.  They later divorced.

He worked in sales for several businesses in Winterset, Algona, and the Le Mars area.  While living in Remsen, he worked for a monument company in Sioux City, Fedders Marine and RV in Le Mars, CW Suter in Sioux City, and Porsch Window and Siding in Sioux City until his retirement.

Following his retirement, he moved to Le Mars.  He later lived in assisting living in Des Moines before moving back to Le Mars.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen.  Over the years, he enjoyed working on cars and watching Dale Earnhardt, Jr driving for NASCAR.  He will also be remembered for his "famous" fried chicken and the "coffee chips" that he shared with his grandchildren, and everyone in the family agrees with him that dryer sheets are very versatile!  He loved gardening, camping, fishing, dogs, being outside and spending time with his family.  He could also do a beautiful hair updo and a great razor cut!  His dry sense of humor was so good that sometimes people didn't quite catch it, but his family and best friends knew that he was hilarious!

Family would like to thank Marvin's special friend Herm for always providing support to Marvin and the family.  And a special thank you to Accura Healthcare and their staff for taking amazing care of Marvin until his time of death.  Care Initiatives Hospice was also a beautiful support for Marvin and his family during his last days.

Survivors: Children - Jeff (Amy) Brandt, Ian (Terri) Brandt, Aaron (Vicki) Brandt, Elison (Mike) Elter and Lauren Brandt.  He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren - Cameron, Caley, Kiefer, Sawyer, Emmelyn, Taylor, Brady, Nicholas and Paisley.
