Obituary

Sharon Hoffman, 81, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 2, 2023, at her home in Le Mars.

Private family services will be held at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Reverend Douglas Klein from All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars will officiate.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Sharon Kay Dyslin, the daughter of Robert and Rose (Dyslin) Lade, was born on August 13, 1942, in Fairmont, Minnesota.  She grew up in Fairmont and attended school.

On a trip to visit a friend in Le Mars, she met her future husband, Larry Hoffman.  They were united in marriage on January 23, 1960, in Fairmont, Minnesota.  After moving to Le Mars, Sharon received her GED.  The couple lived in Le Mars for a few years before moving to Southern California.  They lived in California for 10 years before returning to Le Mars.  Sharon worked in housekeeping at Plymouth Manor in Le Mars. She then went to work as a dietary aide at the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars until her retirement.

She was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars.  She loved watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Minnesota Vikings.  She also enjoyed trying her luck at the casino playing keno.  She enjoyed summer vacations to Minnesota with her family.  Her family was her greatest joy, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved watching them in all their activities and events.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Hoffman of Le Mars; a daughter, Tammy (Rick) Beeck of Le Mars; a grandson, Nick (Renae) Beeck of Hinton, IA, and their children, Jack and Peyton; a granddaughter, Kelli (Zach) Clark of Leon, IA, and their children, Paul and Alison; her brother, John (Kathy) Dyslin of Phoenix, AZ; her in laws: Betty Howard, Lowell (Sharon) Hoffman, Lois (Tony) Schumacher, Ken (Kitty) Hoffman, Keith (Paula) Hoffman, and Pat (Jim) Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Dyslin, Jr; and a brother-in-law, Jim (Jean) Hoffman.
