Shirley Sullivan , 98, of Palm Harbor, Florida, formerly of Le Mars died peacefully on Saturday, Nov 14, 2020 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at All Saints Parish – St. James Catholic Church. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to rexwinkelfh.com .

Shirley Maxine (Groves) Sullivan was born Oct. 12, 1922 to Bert and Jennie (Smid) Groves in Le Mars.  She graduated from St. Joseph's School (now Gehlen) in 1940.  She married Edmund Sullivan on May 8 ,1943 in Eau Claire, WI.  She was primarily a homemaker but held various jobs over the years.  Edmund passed away in 1973.

She loved to travel, especially to see her children and help with her grandchildren.  She moved to Mesa, AZ in 1982 where she enjoyed volunteer work.  She also liked swimming, playing bridge and bingo.

Shirley is survived by her children: Diane Sullivan, Nancy (Leo) Giovannetti, Dennis Sullivan, Curtis (Leann) Sullivan and Kym (Charles) Mossman; her grandchildren: Barry (Monica) Sullivan, Derek (Missy) Sullivan, Kathy (Jeff) Norwood, Neal (Nichole) Wolfrath, Daniel Sullivan,  David (Rachel) Wolfrath, Bradley (Renee) Sullivan, Christopher (Samantha) Giovannetti, Craig Giovannetti, Katherine (Bart) Levin, Nolan (Rosalie) Klein and Jared (Abby) Klein; her great-grandchildren: Elizabeth (Nicholas) Moats, Rhys Norwood, Amy Sullivan, Melanie Sullivan, Trenton Sullivan, Gavyn Norwood, Isaac Wolfrath, Brooklyn Klein, Harlow Norwood, Avery Sullivan, Abigail Levin, Hannah Wolfrath, Nalley Wolfrath, Luca Giovannetti, Madelyn Sullivan, Elena Klein, Enzo Giovannetti, Nixon Wolfrath, and Natalie Klein.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edmund Sullivan; her grandson, Ryan Klein; three brothers, Gerald, Roman and Fred Groves.
