Steven Patrick 'Pat' Sitzman, 65, of Akron, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home in Akron.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery – Neptune, rural Hinton, Iowa.  Visitation with the family present will be from noon until service time on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, and following the service during at time of fellowship, all at the funeral home.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron. Steven Patrick Sitzman, the son of Eldon Sr and Waneta (Workman) Sitzman, was born on July 6, 1958 in Sioux City, Iowa.  He grew up in Sioux City.  He attended school and graduated from Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska.  Following his schooling, he returned to Sioux City.

Pat enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed stateside.  Following his service, he moved to Akron and Westfield area.  He worked for Higman Sand and Gravel in Akron until retiring due to his health.  He was also a handyman for many people in Akron.

Over the years, Pat enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and flowers.  He also enjoyed collecting teddy bears, wolves, and Indian collectables.

Survivors include his mother, Waneta Sitzman of Akron; his siblings: Anna Marie (Bobby) Gag of Remsen, IA, Dallas Sitzman of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Christina (Ronald) Loftus of Aurelia, IA, Martin Sitzman of Aurelia, IA, Dorothy (Larry) Yanak of Arkansas, Barb Sitzman of Sioux City, IA, and Leslie Sitzman of Sioux City, IA; a special aunt, Janie Kittle of Akron, IA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eldon Sitzman Sr; his siblings: Eldon Sitzman Jr, Charles Sitzman, and Shelia Sitzman; 2 nephews: Bobby Shimitz and Mikhail Broyhill; and a niece, Nikita Broyhill.
