Suzanne Vande Hoef , 65, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 5, 2020 at Unity Point Health – St. Luke's in Sioux City, Iowa.
Private family services will be held at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Reverend Jan Christensen from the Presbyterian United Church of Christ will officiate. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .
Suzanne Renee Hamman was born September 30, 1955 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of William and Marilyn (Ferguson) Hamman. She grew up in the Kingsley, Iowa area, where she attended school and graduated from Kingsley-Pierson High School. Following high school, she attended Le Mars Beauty College in Le Mars and later Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City where she received her degree in Early Childhood Education.
Suzanne has been a resident of Le Mars for the past 25 years. She was united in marriage to Michael Vande Hoef on July 28, 2001 in Le Mars. She worked for Mid-Sioux Opportunity in Le Mars until her retirement.
Suzanne had many joys in life, including traveling, crafts, shopping, cooking and decorating. One of her greatest joys was planning family get togethers and spending time with her 6 grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike of Le Mars, IA; 3 children: Amy (Steve) Riccio-Beveridge of Le Mars, IA, Cody Smith of Sioux City, IA, and Natasha (Sean) Drebert of Sioux Falls, SD; 6 grandchildren: Alexa, Olivia, Jovie, Caden, Joey, and James; her mother in law, Sharon (Mike) Lovely of Sioux Falls, SD; her brother, Mike (Jenny) Hamman of Kingsley, IA; 4 sisters: Kathy Lang of Sioux City, IA, Debbie Lambson of Sioux City, IA, Diane Fulton (Mike Payne) of Tom Bean, TX, and Patti (Steve) Polkinghorn of Moville, IA; a brother in law, Robert (Angel) Vande Hoef of Le Mars, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marilyn Hamman; her father in law, Marvin John Vande Hoef; and a brother in law, Forrest Lambson.
