Terry Morehead, 79, of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Celebration of Life Service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron. Pastor Steve Jewett will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at the Westfield Township Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Terry Dean Morehead, the son of Lowell and Arlene (Dreeszen) Morehead, was born on January 7, 1947, in Akron, Iowa. He grew up near Westfield, Iowa. He attended school in Westfield and graduated from Westfield High School in 1964. Following high school, he drove a propane delivery truck for Hummel Propane in Westfield.

He married Mary Lou Beeck. To this union, two children were born, Scott and Angela. After living in Westfield, they moved to a farm near Westfield where Terry farmed. Later, they moved to Remsen, Iowa, where they owned and operated a Ford dealership. In 1982, they moved back to Westfield. Terry worked as a service manager for Sterling Spring in Sioux City. Terry and Mary Lou later divorced.

In 1984, Terry started "The Station" in Westfield. He has owned and operated the business for the past 42 years.

He married Evelyn Calkins on December 31, 1988. The couple made their home on an acreage south of Akron.

Terry also worked for the City of Westfield for many years, taking care of the mowing, snow removal, and monitoring the water and sewer systems. Terry enjoyed skiing with family in Colorado for many years. His life revolved around "The Station". He was always waiting to help the next customer that pulled in, always cleaning their windshield and checking their tire pressures.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Akron; two children: Scott (Becky) Morehead of Westfield, IA, and Angela (John) Lennon of Le Mars, IA; two step children: Christine (Ernie) Wangerin and Tracey (Matt) Sanfilippo, all of Navarre, FL; his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Marcus (Jade) Morehead and their children, Kayghen, Marshall, and Mason; Mathew Morehead (Cassandra) and his son, Karson; Michael Lennon; Connor Lennon; Benjamin Wangerin, Brandon Wangerin, Blake Wangerin, Caden Sanfilippo, and Kabree Sanfilippo; his siblings: Lance Morehead of Coal, MO, and Sue (Dan) Mann-Siebenborn of Edwards, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Arlene Morehead; and a stepdaughter, Tammy Sue Calkins.
