Theresa Madelynn Hall, the daughter of Darvin and Evelyn (Ross) Hall, was born on November 23, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa. As a young child, she lived on a farm in Lawton, Iowa. At the age of 11, she moved with her family to a farm near Hinton, Iowa. She attended school in Hinton and graduated from Hinton High School in 1972. She furthered her education at the College of St. Mary in Omaha, Nebraska, graduated with her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and began teaching kindergarten in the Sioux City Community School district.
She was united in marriage to David Howe on April 3, 1976, at St. Joseph Catholic Church – Neptune, rural Hinton, Iowa. They were blessed with 3 children: Elizabeth, Emily, and Grant. After the passing of their daughter, Elizabeth, Tish began taking classes to earn her master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Dakota in 1985. After 40 years of teaching kindergarten and first grade for Sioux City Community Schools, Tish retired and enjoyed supporting Dave in his tax business and on the farm.
Tish was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church – Neptune. After its closing, she became a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. Over the years, Tish enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, planning parties, and playing Bunco with her teacher friends. She enjoyed shopping and the "hunt" of finding the perfect item. She and Dave also enjoyed traveling and taking trips abroad. Tish could talk to anyone, and life-long friendships were formed because of it. Tish loved decorating for all the holidays and hosting many family gatherings. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, David Howe of Hinton, Iowa; a daughter: Emily (Jeff) Burkey of Le Mars, Iowa, and their children: Benjamin and Jillian; a son, Grant (Katie) Howe of Hinton, Iowa, and their children: Brinley, Kovin, Gatlin, and Baelyn; a brother-in-law, Bill (Ann) Howe of Albert Lea, Minnesota; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Howe; her parents, Darvin and Evelyn Hall; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alvin and Marilyn Howe; and her sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Charles Curtis.
