Todd Lancaster , 58, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Reverend Chris Meier will officiate. Burial will follow in Elgin Township Cemetery near Seney, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at the Le Mars YMCA. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The family requests that you wear your favorite team apparel to the prayer service. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com .

Todd Oscar Lancaster was born September 17, 1963 in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Robert and Lois (Peters) Lancaster. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. He attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1982. He attended college at Arizona State University from 1982 to 1984 and was a percussionist in the Sun Devil Marching Band. He then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a BA in Finance in 1986.
He was united in marriage to Roma Hawkins on July 21, 1984 at Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp in Okoboji, Iowa.
Following graduation, they moved back to Le Mars. Todd started working in retail for Mick's Menswear in Le Mars. In 2001, he went to work for Anderson Accounting in Le Mars. In 2005, he became the executive director of the Le Mars YMCA. On March 31, 2022, he retired due to his health.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars where he served on church council and ushered. He served on the Le Mars Community School Board of Education, was a past board member of the Le Mars Community School District Foundation, and a longtime member of the Le Mars Athletic Booster Club. Todd was a former board member of the Le Mars Little League and coached for many years. He was the public address announcer for Le Mars Community Schools for many years, having announced football for 21 years, baseball for 13 years, and track for 9 years. He enjoyed attending sporting events of all kinds, but especially the College World Series with his sons. Over the past 25 years, he only missed one series. He was passionate about watching his favorite teams: the Kansas City Royals, Iowa Hawkeyes, Arizona State Sun Devils, and Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed golfing, especially while playing with the 'Wednesday Golf Guys' and sharing stories over a cup of coffee with the 'Gomer Coffee Guys'.
Survivors include his wife of over 37 years, Roma of Le Mars; two sons: Matthew (April) Lancaster of Le Mars and their children, Noah Olson, Jaxson Olson, and Louis Lancaster; and Dr. Zachary (Michelle) Lancaster of Le Mars and their son, Easton; 4 siblings: Bruce Lancaster of Le Mars, Steve (Jackie) Lancaster of New River, AZ, Barry (Connie) Lancaster of West Des Moines, IA, and Lisa (Don) Shunkwiler of Buckeye, AZ; his mother in law, Judy Hawkins of Le Mars; his in laws: Bonnie (Steve) Klein of Ankeny, IA, Tammy (Todd) Popken of Akron, IA, and Curt (Jaime) Hawkins of Le Mars; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lois Lancaster; his father-in-law, David Hawkins; sister-in-law, Diane Lancaster; and a niece, Samantha Hawkins.
