Vicky Lynn Wheelock was born on April 4, 1958 to Wayne Skidmore and Gloria Wheelock. She was primarily raised by her maternal grandparents in Elk Point, SD where she attended Elk Point High School.

Vicky married Larry Jurgensen on June 14, 1975. They lived in several towns in Plymouth County and eventually made their home in Akron. Vicky primarily stayed home raising their children but she later took classes to obtain her trucking certification. She would often drive along with Larry when she could. After a wrist injury prevented her from trucking, she began working as an activity director for local nursing homes. She really enjoyed working with the residents and putting her best effort into preparing their activities. She unfortunately retired due to her health, but she continued to volunteer at the nursing home as often as she was able.

Vicky loved music and had a large collection of old vinyl records; she and Larry used to love going dancing. She also had an extensive collection of DVDs and VHS tapes over the years. She loved going to concerts, attending plays, and having a glass of wine. She wasn’t a huge sports fan, but would go to watch and support her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed gardening and had quite the green thumb for her flower gardens. She was very artistic and loved to craft; she created such unique items with paper, material, and various other mediums. Her crafts were often used for holidays and gifting.

Vicky was fiercely loyal and loved her family. She was a proud mom, grandma, and great grandma. Vicky spent a lot of time with her grandson, Kyle, helping to provide his care and watching him as needed. Her children certainly kept her on her toes and her annual threat to 'cancel Christmas' and knock the tree over became a comical family tradition.

Vicky is survived by her children: Jamie (Sabrina Langley) Jurgensen, Devin (Chris) Royalty, Luke (April Gotto) Jurgensen, Lerin (Katie Tucker) Jurgensen, Andrew (Deb) Jurgensen, and Jordan (Kayla) Jurgensen; grandchildren: Haley, Allie, Madison, Kyzer, Kolton, Felicity, Kaden, Cooper, Bryce, Conner, Aiden, Noah, Kaeli, Isabella, Tanner, Kyle, Aaron, Kelsey, Zach, Cody, Brianna, Caitlyn, Nohlyn, Nash, Norah, Navayda, and Nyles; great-grandchildren: Jaxton, Mia, Lukka, McKenzie, Elijah, Clara, Zander, Tommy, and Layla; siblings: Kelly Johnson-Horn, Pat (Gary) Sprung, and Rebel Guertin; sister-in-law, Pat Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Vicky is preceded in death by her parents: Wayne Skidmore and Gloria (Wheelock) Johnson; husband, Larry; and brother, Terry Johnson.
