Wanda Jean Peters was born on December 17, 1949 to Clifford and Arlene (Renken) Peters in Le Mars, Iowa. Wanda was raised in rural Le Mars and attended country school in Craig, Iowa. She graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1968. Wanda began working at a chiropractic office in Le Mars for several years before working at Harker's in Le Mars and later at the Iowa DOT in road maintenance.

Wanda was united in marriage to Michael Delperdang on April 13, 1985 at Christ Lutheran Church in Grant Township, rural Le Mars. They lived in Le Mars for two years before moving onto a farm north of Oyens. Wanda then began a 25-year career as a respiratory therapist at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. A few years into her career, the education requirements changed for respiratory therapists and Wanda went back to school and graduated with her degree in 1999. Wanda also painted homes, interiors and exteriors, and helped Mike on the farm. Wanda officially retired from Floyd Valley Hospital in 2015.

Wanda was a member at St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Le Mars and she was a previous member on the Board of Health for Plymouth County. In her younger years, she really enjoyed riding horses and fishing. She was a volunteer EMT for over 20 years, first in Le Mars and later in Oyens. She loved gardening, taking care of her flower beds, and mowing the lawn. She also enjoyed camping, playing cards, tractor rides and fishing, especially on their trips to Canada. Wanda loved to golf and golfed as often as she could! Wanda was a hardworking and fun-loving person; she will be remembered for her good-natured practical jokes!
