Wendell Sitzmann , 75, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.

Funeral Services will be held privately. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery – Neptune in rural Hinton, Iowa. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Memorials can be made in Wendell's name to Life Skills Training Center in Le Mars.

Wendell Louis Sitzmann was born on December 9, 1946 in Le Mars, Iowa to Venard and Evelyn (Becker) Sitzmann. He grew up on the family farm near Neptune in rural Kingsley, Iowa. He was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church Neptune. He lived at home on the farm until his mid-thirties; he then moved into The Pride Group in Le Mars. He worked for many years with Life Skills in Le Mars. In December 2017 he then became a resident at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.

Wendell was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish. He enjoyed riding his bike and watching comedy on TV, especially "Golden Girls". He also took a memorable trip to Branson to watch Lawrence Welk.

Wendell is survived by his sister, Cheryl (Ron) Wiltgen of Le Mars; brother, Lew (Jean) Sitzmann of Kingsley; and many nieces and nephews.

Wendell is preceded in death by his parents.
